Adjusting to life in the middle of nowhere

It was probably the other day when I was working in the bar that I realised, listening to three farmers talk constantly for half an hour about grain, and not found it weird, that I had got used to living in a tumbleweed town. Not only that, if anyone is to walk in the bar now, we will know exactly what drink they want, whether they want it from a can, 'handle' or 'stubby' (that's 'glass' and 'bottle' to you and me), and probably how much it costs! It's safe to say we have been working here far too long. Getting used to the slang everyone uses here was pretty difficult too, for instance;

If someone was saying something that you particularly agreed with;
In England 'By gosh I do agree'
In Oz 'F***in' Oath!'

Any word you use can always be shortened, preferrably with an -o at the end;
Car Registration - 'Rego'
Petrol station - 'Servo'
Electrician - 'Sparko'
Methylated Spirits (we use it to clean EVERYTHING!) - 'Metho'!!!!

So just add an -o to anything and you are aussie. F***in oath!

Oh and I did manage to get a sneak into the wonderful world of sheep shearing! I was taken out to one of the farms by and old shearer and I had a go at 'crutching' which is basically shaving their ass before they give birth! Lovely stuff! That sheep has the cleanest backside this side of Perth I tell thee!
